I had 41 tabs open in about six groups over the last year and a half and I just close them and exited Firefox. Is there any way to get them back?

History menu, if it was destroyed in the last session then use "Restore Previous session:" and then restore all windows also from the history menu.

If done in this session try the restore all windows under the history menu.

That is already gone! Restore previous session is grayed out. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks for the idea, though. I didn't know about restore previous set session. I had been aborting Firefox two get back to the previous session. Now, at least, I can do it from the menu.

If "Restore Previous Session" isn't enabled and also Recently Closed Tabs and Windows doesn't show those closed tabs then that data is lost.

You can make a backup copy of the file sessionstore.js to have a backup of open tbs and Tab Groups and App tabs.

Similar problem. Related to a crash in FF and then the restored window was a popup only. All the tabs and groups disappeared and restore point missing/grey.

My suggestion is to allow a save of the group/pinned/app state and then lock it down.
