all webpages are shown centered and have margins. full screen??

i have a 21 in computer screen and when i open a new browser in shows the website centered with large (4-5 in margins on each side) and when i zoom in it makes everything bunch up how can this be corrected?? i would like my whole screen to be filled with the webpages. on smaller computers it does the same thing. i do not want to have to purchase a screen magnifier. oi would just like to be able to view a screen without margins on the left and right of my web pages. please help :)
