how to getfirefox to save all windows that are openwhen shut down as it used to
i have updated firefox and it is now iritating to use, i used to be able to close down and it would ask if i wanted to save all open windows, which was great, now it sucks.
unless there is a button to push or something i have missed, i feel like uninstalling it

You may set Firefox to open a previous session rather than start on a home page see
- session restore _configuring-session-restore
I think you may also set it back to its previous version behaviour, but I have not tried that myself for a while.
- see cor-els answer
Try it and please post back if it works.

Do not worry.
The change is that it does not ask, not that it does not save the information. It was decided it is better to allow you to choose when reopening rather than when closing firefox.
- demonstrated in Common questions after upgrading from Firefox 3.6 why-werent-my-tabs-and-windows-restored (^ blue text is a ckickable link)
If you open in the default home page there will be a big button in the centre, otherwise when you reopen
- You will find the restored session with
firefox button -> history ->restore previous section- or Menubar toolbar -> History -> restore previous session
Note
- when you close firefox always use Firefox Button -> [x] Exit
- or Menubar toolbar -> File -> Exit
thankyou, but i preffered it the old way
