Instead of the Google search bar I have WhiteSmoke Bar Customized Web Search. I deleted WSmoke using remove programs and the extension add-on in Firefox as well but the search is still there. I don't see the file anywhere and BitDefender is not picking it up

Okay here's the fix. I am accepting NO responsibility if you mess Firefox up by doing this. but this is how I removed the WhiteSmoke Bar Customized Web Search and got my Google search back

  1. In the address url bar type about:config
  2. Do a search for browser.search.defaultthis.engineName in the filter
  3. Change the value to Google Web Search
  4. Do a search for browser.search.selectedEngine in the filter
  5. Change the value to Google Web Search
  6. Close and Restart Firefox. This should have replaced the White Smoke Web Search Bar with the default Google Search Bar
