Had a previous problem where ff wont open maximised, and tried the corrupt localstore solution; now the first firefox window opens maximised but all others still open 'normal' and must be manually maxed

i deleted the rdf and now the first window only (and any tabs in it) are maximised. i found this in the rdf

<RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
 screenX="4"
 screenY="4"
 width="1008"
 height="461"
 sizemode="Normal" />

i tried changing normal to maximised; no effect. either i need also to change the numbers (to match a maximised window) or ff ignores this. i want to be able to open different sites in different windows, so i can open subpages in tabs on that sites 'window' and not have to maximise the windows manually. its just irritating having to click max :)

What happens if you close Firefox with one maximized window open?

i deleted localstore.rdf again and opened one window which opened maximised and closed it. then i restarted the computer and opened again but the second window still opens what i assume is 'normal'. i had to restore my bookmark bar and stuff obviously. the reason its annoying is because i prefer to open one window for a site and open tabs for threads or suboards if its an imageboard or similar site, rather than keep them all on one ff window in tabs. so different sites are in different windows.

Try to maximize the screen by dragging the border before clicking the maximize button.

tried to maximise but it jut works while the second or more window is open. close the firefox after the first one and reopen, and it is back to the same size and position they always open after the first one. i am beginning to think it is some weird interaction with the win xp tile/cascade commands, as if they are perpetally remembering an old cascade done once long ago (i dont ever use tile/cascade, but did so once but i think that was under ff 3.6.xx, and it never caused this problem). as it is, i have given up and now just maximise every ff window. but as i say, it didnt become like this until ff 7 update, so it must be an interaction caused by the changes from the previous version. sadly that wont be much help in trying to track it down, but thanks for trying anyway!
