I cannot enable my "history" - I seem to get a drop down list of the top requests for information which aren't necessarily mine..

I can't enable " Use custom settings for history" in the Privacy setting, it keeps reverting to "Remember history".

If "Remember History" is selected then that means that all history and cookie settings have the default value.
"Use custom settings for history" reverts to "(Never) Remember history" if all History and Cookies settings have the default setting.
"Use custom settings for history" stays selected if at least one of the History or Cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes from the defaults are made.
