i installed jdk7 64bit version and even set the new path but the browser is not identifying the jre... only jre6u29 32bit is working and even that has to be downloaded via the online installer...the offline version is not working

It could be that the installed Firefox is 32bit. You can download 64bit FF here. Also note that 32bit plugins won't work with 64bit FF.

http://wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com/Firefox:Download = looks to be a dead project. Nothing newer than Firefox-4.0b12pre.en-US.win64-x86 64 listed there.

Mozilla is working on 64-bit Firefox for Windows, but it is no where near being released, only Nightly tester versions are available.
