I am having color/grayscale resolution issues when looking at images on flickr. They look allright if viewed in IE

I am an amature B&W film photographer and I uploaded some images to flickr a couple of weeks ago. Today I took a look at the pictures and it looked like the grayscale bit resolution, which usually is 8 bit, was redused. I tried many things, among others uploading the image again, but nothing helped. Thats when I tried to watch the image on flickr using IE instead, and it looked perfectly normal, with a normal grayscale bitdepth.
