I have my Gmail tab pinned and when I reload Ff, my left arrow disappears and I can't see all my tabs. After I unpin and pin my Gmail tab, the arrow reappears. It's been like this since the start of the pinned tabs. It only concerns the left arrow

Glad you got it sorted out :) Thanks for the update. It's a very good thing you emailed the add-on developers, otherwise they may never know.

Just checked it in Safe mode... and it doesn't happen... So does that mean that one or more of my add ons are causing it?

more options

I disabled all my add ons, one by one, trying to locate which on could be the culprit... but it made no difference. Except that my left arrow no longer disappears... at the moment I guess... hmmm... A little later: Well just reloaded Ff and it disappeared. Reloaded again, after a Safe mode reload, and it was back. So just to make sure, before posting this, I reloaded and now it's was gone again... :-(

Safe mode disables the Extensions and themes (Appearance) in Tools > Add-ons as well as hardware acceleration which can also be manually disabled via Tools > Options > General > Use hardware acceleration when available. The usual problem could be conflict between the add-ons. And at least two users have also reported minor issues in the GUI with hardware acceleration enabled.

Thanks for taking the time to help... :) Unfortunately it makes no difference - apparently - whether I have hardware acceleration on or off. Whether I'm disabling or enabling add-ons. There seem to be no logic behind the disappearance. Now it's here - now it's gone. Obviously something is not working properly... but have no clue what is causing this malfunctioning...

You can also try to Reset toolbars and controls: and Make Changes and Restart in the Safe Mode startup screen. Please note that this would reset all toolbar and icon changes to the defaults.

Hopefully you're not loosing your patience...:)

Tried your proposal but it made no difference on the arrow... ;-(

I'm loving this :) just a thought: it's the tab bar arrows and not the location (address) bar arrows , isn't it?? Can you also attach an image: Add image: Browse below Post a Reply on this page. Please also try a new profile and if it is okay, you can later copy the needed personal data from the previous profile into this new profile.

Here's a snip of my Ff.

So far another profile seems to make a difference, but I haven't used it a lot...

If this profile is okay, you can copy the personal data from the previous profile and delete that. You can also try adding the extensions and themes one by one and see if the problem reappears.

Thanks... :)

I's quite a laborious task, but I'll do it step by step as you recommend, and then see how it goes. I've already read the Ff help page: 'Recovering important data from an old profile'

If I ever find out what caused all this, I'll be back... also if this didn't solve the problem... but I'm optimistic... :)

Thanks for now

Latest update.

I have an extension called IDM CC 7.3.14. It's an Internet Download Manager integration module for Mozilla. When I enable it - with my new profile - the problem reappears, the left arrow is gone. I disable it, restart Ff and the arrow is back. Have tested it a few times and it's always the same result. With IDM enabled - no left arrow. Seems like the culprit has been found... :)

Why it didn't show, doing the same, using my old profile, I don't know. Maybe I just wasn't very persistent...

I've emailed the company about the problem
