Can you give some examples of where hover is not working? Typically Firefox would follow a site's directions for any special styling to apply when you hover over a link, and display the title of the link if set by the developer. Fancier things generally require attaching some JavaScript to the "mouseover" event. If that's what's missing, make sure JavaScript is enabled on this tab:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Content

If you use the NoScript extension, make sure to check its menu for any script sources you might be blocking; many sites use more than one domain for their content.

When Flash is not working do you get any error messages? Blank white space or blank black space? There is an update for Flash available (Flash 11.4); that might help.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
