I'm trying to lighten the color on the information bar. Can you tell me how to accomplish this?

The information bar at the top of my screen is a very dark purple. I cannot see icons or writing. I've tried every way I can think of to lighten this, but it isn't working.

Sorry, which bar is it exactly? The two typical configurations are:

(1)

Windows title bar with an orange "Firefox" button
Tab bar (pushes up into the title bar when you maximize)
Navigation toolbar with URL bar and search box

(2)

Windows title bar with title of current page
classic Menu bar
Tab bar
Navigation toolbar with URL bar and search box

Firefox also will display an Infobar from time to time, which usually is yellow and positioned just above the top of the page.

If that question doesn't make sense, perhaps you can post a screen shot illustrating the problem area. You can attach it to your reply. This article might help with that: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
