I can't log into my gmail account and it says I need to set up my browser to accept cookies and firefox wont save the security setting to accept cookies unless I check the box that says clear history when firefox closes and I still can't get into gmail on my computer and it works on my phone, that's how I verified my account to send this, and I've deleted firefox and reinstalled it and still nothing and I can log into my att and netzero accounts no problem, I think I may have a trojan sometimes I get redirected after opening a page but this is still weird because that only happens once in a while, and this all started after clearing the cookies trying to stop that redirecting from happening

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" selection as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".

"Use custom settings for history" stays selected if at least one of the History or Cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes from the defaults are made.
