I know about ctrl+ for temporary sizing of text on a page, but would like to set a permanent size for my default. Right now the text in firefox is simply too small

Code changes regarding HiDPI have landed in Firefox 22 and later (bug #844604).

You can modify the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and increase or decrease the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of fonts and other elements in Firefox.

  • The layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely (resolution 0.1 or 0.05).
  • You can use values between 0.05 and 1.0 to reduce elements in size or use values greater than 1.0 to magnify and make elements larger (percentage divided by DPI, % / DPI).

If the web pages needs to be adjusted after changing this pref then you can look at Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint.

Hello!

I'm not a techie, and i just updated to Firefox 22 and I have noticed my pages & fonts all got bigger (Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc) and I have not been able to fix them. (The fonts on Firefox toolbars have stayed same size)

I want them to go smaller (back they way the were) but I 'm not sure the best method. Decreasing the Zoom does not really work, just a temp solution. And changing the defaults in the options Content causes problems, you can't permanently change the font size without messing with the font style (I want to keep the webpage styles).

Basically I want to permanently make the font smaller (with the option to make temp changes) while keeping the webpage chosen styles.

Which of the solutions above would you recommend?

Thanks for all your help.

Thank you for that! It really helped. I've gotten my fonts back to the appropriate size. But I wish it had been a lot easier, I hate messing with "code". Now I will have to remember this nugget.

Thanks.

I ran into a small problem on my first attempt thanks to a distraction and the size was a giant leaving no option for anything (the view was so large) so I ended up removing the program and reinstalled Firefox.

THEN after reinstalling, to get the text size to shrink, I am comfortable with the size 1.20 .... 1.25 was just a tad to big or me. Thank you for the link you posted!!!

Why can't you just allow a preference in your Options for an increase in text size???????
