After downloading files form websites as Rapidshare, the folders don't show in the "Downloads" folder in my Drive yet it appears in the download history. I try to open the folders directly from Firefox download history but a message stating that this is a corrupt shortcut & that the folder designation is not present appears. I don't know where does my folders go & i search for them on my computer & nothing appears.

Can you please help me & suggest what shall i do?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Unfortunately... the problem still exists.

I've run the anti-malware software stated & scanned for any viruses & yet nothing appeared to help.

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is otherwise interfering with downloading files.

Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
