My computer shuts down normally and I close all windows prior to shut down. Yet, when I start my computer the next day, it always starts with a tab the reads "about:sessionrestore" asking me if I want to restore or close the tab. How do I make this stop and just open to my homepage?

Uninstall or remove the "Mozilla Hotfix" addon which seems like malware.

You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
