New tab splash screen on startup
I'd like Firefox to show the new tab splash screen on startup. I've been able to get it to open a New Tab on startup but its a blank new tab and not the grid based new tab I get when I usually open a new tab.
I'm comfortable going into the about:config if there is a setting I can change.

You would need to make about:newtab the homepage and enter firefox as a autostarter (not sure if you can do this with the work system).

Do you want to do this for Linux Mint or Windows 7, your system details show both.
You can add the about:newtab URL to the command line in the Firefox desktop shortcut to open this page by default.
See also the startup setting:
- Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts"
- "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
- "Show my home page"
- "Show a blank page"
I'd like to do this for Windows 7 and Linux Mint 15. I use one at work and one at home. I have the same issue with both.
