If you set up the Sync service from within Firefox, then your bookmarks might be replicated to Mozilla's Sync server. But otherwise, they would just be on your computer and in any backups you make of your Firefox data (for example, using Apple's Time Machine software).

Could you describe the reason for your question in more detail?

Hello I'm on this site and using Safari Browser when I get an answer as I click on the link Error on the site. I also noticed FireFox Browser opens up with error that the site is down or not working

Getting emails is only working on my end on this site. hbtruck68 at gmail is my email.

Just got an overhaul to O.S. to 10.7.5 I have used time Machine back ups before. Now I back up to ext. Drive. I believed I Synced Bookmarks and even exported to Safari Bookmarks. I've had Gmail for a long time so I need my bookmarks. Help

edit: email is public here so modified it a bit. Just add the @ and .com

Hi inglish2, I don't understand the error you are getting using this site in Safari. What does it say exactly?

Regarding your Firefox home page problem, what is the address of the page? If you copy it from the Firefox address bar to the Safari address bar, does that page open in Safari?

Regarding bookmarks, can you check in the Library dialog to see whether you find them there? Either:

  • Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks
  • command + Shift +b

In that same dialog, Firefox can import your bookmarks from Safari. This article describes the steps: Import data from another browser.

Does that work?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

If you use the Time Machine on your Mac then you can try to restore an older copy of the places.sqlite file or possibly a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
