With the new update my headphones stop working and I have to reboot to get them back on. Speakers continue to work. Sounds like a fax underwater.

After downloading the new update, my headphones randomly started losing the sound and I get this sound like a fax machine underwater and I can't hear what I was listening to. I have to shut down my computer to get it to come back on normally, only to have it randomly do it again. As the computer shuts down you can hear a loud popping sound. I went back to a previous save and did not install the update for a day and it was it was working fine again. Then I installed the update again and within hours it began to happen again. Went back to the previous save and did not install the update for the last 3 days and no issues. I would like to be able to install the update but not if it means losing sound and having to shut down. I watch tv on my computer and it's a huge pain to get a movie loaded only to shut down because I can't hear it, then reload and maybe 20 mins. or an hour later same thing. And it seems to be entirely random when it occurs.

Hi carmenoshea,

Thank you for contacting support, I am sorry to hear that there was an issue with audio after the recent version 27 update. Fix common audio and video issues

I found an old bug with similar issues, but it is not a current version. For more information, what kind of video/audio are you playing when this happens?

Please make sure when you update that all the plug ins are updated as well.
