why does tbird crash when i attach a file?

I am using windows 8, and when I click "attach" TB immediately crashes. If I repeat this 3 or 4 times I can usually get it to attach a file and send it. My question is are there any good email programs worth getting? I liked outlook express, but I hate windows mail because it takes over my desktop.

have you disabled email scanning in your anti virus program? If not try it.

What are the crash report Ids? see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter
