I think missing document is associated with a cache file in firefox under the cache2/entries subfolders. How do I recover/view the .doc from the cache file?

I think a missing document is associated with a cache file in firefox under the cache2/entries subfolder. How do I recover/view the document? I've already tried looking for it using recovery software, asking other questions on Mozilla support about where temporary files are stored, and I can't find the file. The cache files I found match the size and date of the document I lost, so I think it is in that cache folder. The missing document still has a record under "Downloads" and it doesn't give me the option of "open containing folder"

You would have to use the about:cache to inspect the cache or look at this extension.

If you have downloaded the file to open it in an external application for editing and saved the file in that application under the same name in the temp folder then the file could be lost if it is no longer there. In such a case you need to use "Save as" to save the file in a different location to prevent data loss.
