Hi, I have recently had a hard drive crash thus deleting all my firefox bookmarks.

I have used fireox sync previously via the iphone app and was wondering if there was any way to recover them? I assumed having used firefox sync via the iphone app I would have had to set up an account, but when I try login / recover password / recover username I get no email (presumably there is no log of my account).

Any clever ways to recover the bookmarks or should I just let go and move on....

Thanks in advance.

It depends. If you had sync connected to desktop firefox on your old computer, and you were using the new version of firefox sync (which was released in April 2014) on that computer, then you should be able to sign in again. Otherwise, it's unfortunately not possible.

I guess I'm kind of confused... firefox doesn't have (and as far as I know, has never had) an iPhone app.

It was called firefox home but was stopped after a while I believe. Was such a long time ago that I can't remember if I had to set up an account with it or not though.

Firefox home was discontinued in 2012, meaning it was using the old version of firefox sync.

Were you using sync on your old computer (the one that had the hard drive failure)? If so, what version of firefox did you have on the old computer?

Unfortunately I don't know which version I was using I'm afraid. I'm assuming it would have been a fairly recent one though.

Do you still have and were using firefox home to sync?

Sadly I don't even have the app anymore.

Sounds like if it was using the old version of sync I wont still have the information stored then?

It would have been before that when I last used sync I imagine. Looks like I will just have to let them go. Thanks for your help though
