Can I uninstall an older Mozilla Firefox 37.0.2 still on my computer or is it necessary to keep Mozilla Firefox 47.0 working properly?
I have Mozilla Firefox 47.0 (x86 en-US) that I just updated today, but when I look at my ‘programs & features’ it shows I also have Mozilla Firefox 37.0.2 (x86 en-US) installed that has been there for long time thru all my updates but I just left it there. Now I want to know can I uninstall that older Mozilla Firefox 37.0.2 version or will it cause problems, like is it necessary to keep Mozilla Firefox 47.0 working properly? Thanks in advance for any help!

hi firefoxylady, this is likely just an orphan entry. when you uninstall it you will probably trigger the removal of the current version (but you can just reinstall it afterwards - your user data like bookmarks, passwords and customizations won't be affected by this).
Thank you Philipp! I save a copy of my %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ folder & update a new copy every week or 2 for a backup on a flash drive. I usually use Revo uninstaller to cleanup what program uninstallers leave behind. So after uninstalling Mozilla Firefox 37.0.2 & it happens to also uninstall Mozilla Firefox 47.0 then I should be able to reinstall Mozilla Firefox 47.0 with my user data such as history or bookmarks intact, correct? Thanks in advance!
