I downloaded an export add-on for Tbird, but can't figure out where it went or how to use it. I want to back up an email folder onto a flash drive. Been going around in circles trying to find out how to do this. I did find 1 similar question/answer to this, but it didn't work for me? Help!

What add on did you download? Did you install it after you downloaded the file?

I'm in real estate and have to save my emails for 7 years. Is it possible to move my emails to a flash or zip drive and get them off my mac and in a format I can open and read on the drive. Thanks.

Install this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

Download the file to some place you can find it. In Thunderbird open the Add-Ons tab and click Extensions Click the icon that looks like a gear and select Install Add-on from file. Point to the file and install it.

Read the documentation on the add-ons site for details of what it does and how to use it.
