This message keeps appearing when I attempt to access a new site: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL
The page for security certificates that is linked to from the error page lists several errors but does not include this one. There is nothing showing up when I search your support pages. Please can you supply the information required to sort this problem out.
I have Kaspersky Total Security.
Thank you

Hi Fred,
Here are the instructions from Kaspersky.
Jon
As far as the second issue is concerned this seems to be a certificate issue with the Firefox browser. This error (Untrusted Certificate) occurs when the Kaspersky Root Certificate was not properly installed or damaged in Firefox during product installation. Therefore, please clarify in which browsers you encounter this issue.
In case this issue occurs when using Firefox, please perform the following steps:
1. Please enable hidden files and folders display. In Windows XP: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/win_fcab_show_file_extensions.mspx In Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/show-hidden-files In Windows 8 and 8.1, you can simply press the combination "Windows Key + X" and choose "Control Panel" – Choose “Folder Options” – go to “View” tab and find and check “Show hidden files, folders, or drives” – click on Apply and then OK to close.
2. Launch Firefox and click on the menu icon (the three-stripe symbol in the upper right corner) > Options > Advanced > Certificates > View Certificates > Authorities.
3. Find the Certificate "AO Kaspersky Lab. - Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Root Certificate". If found once: Click on the second line of the entry and delete it by clicking "Delete or Distrust". If found several times: Delete all entries. If there is no entry, proceed with step 4.
4. Next, click on "Import..." and go to the folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP17.0.0\Data\Cert
5. Select the file (fake) Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Root Certificate.cer and click "Open"
6. In the window "Downloading Certificate" please select the option "Trust this CA to identify web sites." and click on "OK".
7. Close all windows with "OK" and restart Firefox.

As a test, disable Kaspersky.
Please provide public (no password) link(s) that we can check out. No Personal Information Please !
Hi Fred,
Tanks you for engaging. Turning off Kaspersky improved my success rate, but Firefox is still not predictable or usable. And of course I need a security system!
Here is one site that misbehaved this morning. https://futureconsiderations.bloomfire.com
Here is another that connected initially but then wouldn't reconnect https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox
I look forward to your further suggestions
Jon
Fred,
Update to the above. I now cannot get into any Google facility - not even www.google.com. So it won't give me any sign-in to any of my Drive facilities etc.
Jon
Try removing, then installing the current Kaspersky.
Back to square 1 - almost. I am getting a different error message as per the attached screenprint. I have re-installed the latest version of Kaspersky and now access is falling apart again. I can't get into my Google mail or drive. I cannot get into www.glassfrog.com, which was working this morning. I cannot get into ebay which was also working this morning.
Jon
Have you contacted Kaspersky support?
I had a separate support issue which caused me to update to the latest version of Kaspersky and to ensure that all Windows updates were installed. I had not previously made this topic the subject of a Kaspersky support request, but have now done so.
However, since both Firefox and Kaspersky are major vendors, I have to ask whether my problem is a common one - i.e. what is it about my installation that is different?
Jon
Others have reported Kaspersky trouble.
Hi Fred,
Kaspersky have been very helpful and gave me explicit instructions for how to replace the certificate (though I had tried that before). It seems to be working now.
Sigh of relief. I appreciate your help.
Thanks, Jon
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
For others with the same problem, can you post the instructions you were given? Then mark that as Solved Problem.

I found the location of the certificates (steps are in the chosen solution). I noticed I had two CA for Kaspersky. I deleted the older one and restarted Firefox. The problem is gone.
Good work.
