My email will not open web pages
I recently updated Firefox. Since then I have not been able to open links that arrive in emails.

Thank you for your assistance. While I was waiting I did a bit more browsing through old questions and have managed to solve the problem. I made Chrome the default, and restarted the computer. The hyperlinks started working. Then I made Firefox the default again and they are still working! Not sure what the problem was.

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?
While you are in safe mode;
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
It sounds like the computer did not know what the default browser was. By selecting another browser, then Firefox, repaired the default setting.
It was selected as the default browser (I had checked that), but it obviously wasn't working.
