In the previous version of Firefox there was a "move bookmarks" function in the Organize Bookmarks pull down menu. It's gone. It made sorting bookmarks simple. You could move groups of bookmarks to another folder. I want to move bookmarks from the "other bookmarks" folder to folders I've already created. How can I do that?

Hi, please mouse to top of browser and Right Click in a empty spot and turn on the Menu's you want. Menu is where bookmarks are and bookmarks tool bar is where can drag and drop URL's

Or got to 3 Bar Menu --> Customize and bottom of the page will find Toolbars.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

If you click on "bookmarks" , "show all bookmark" at the top if the page the first toolbar item is "organize". In the previous Firefox version there was a "move bookmarks" item. You could click on an unsorted bookmark and easily move it to a folder you already had created. Or you could easily drag a bookmark to another folder. These functions are not in the new version of Firefox. And when you save a bookmark its going to the "other bookmarks" folder. You can't sort or move bookmarks out of this folder easily without copying the bookmark and pasting it into the folder where you want to put it

You can open the the other bookmarks folder in the right pane in the Library and select the bookmarks for want to move and Cut the selected bookmarks to the clipboard. Then you can browse to the folder you want to move them to and paste the bookmarks from the clipboard to this folder. You can select multiple bookmarks in the usual way for your OS or use Select All in the right-click context menu or in the Organize menu.

There's always a work around. How about putting the move command back?

Wow, I used Firefox since before version 1 and never noticed Move on the Organize menu. I always used drag-and-drop. (Or sometimes Cut and Paste.)

I don't know why or when it was removed, but the whole Library uses weird proprietary layout code, so I suspect it will need to be overhauled before new features are added (or old ones restored, as the case may be).

There might be an add-on that has the Move feature. Unfortunately, add-ons tend to be a bit slower for bookmarks that the built-in dialog. But if they are more efficient in other ways, they might be a good workaround for now.

The code for Move was buggy and was removed in Firefox 60.
