Can I show desktop notifications of new fields with a clickable field to mark a message read without switching to Thunderbird?

I often see notifications for emails where I instantly know from the notification that I won’t need to read them.

It would be great if I could just click a "mark as read" field in the notification without switching to thunderbird so the email does not clutter my inbox as an unread email.

I don't know of a way to mark messages as read from the notification, but you could create a filter that acts on messages that fulfill certain criteria (Sender, Subject etc.) and automatically apply the Mark As Read action, and/or move the messages to a separate folder.
