Each time I open a new tab in Firefox, the "Getting Started" program opens in another tab. Can I safely hit "cut" or "delete" that won't cause problems later?

Each time I open a new tab in Firefox, the "Getting Started" program opens in another tab. Can I safely hit "cut" or "delete" that won't cause problems later?

It asks me to "log-in" & when I click that, it opens LastPass in the tab & since I'm already logged in, the only option is to logout.

I've had Firefox for a few years - never had this problem. I must have clicked on the "Getting Started" icon by mistake & now I can't get rid of it, and have to keep closing the tab. Then when I open a different tab, it opens ANOTHER tab, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks

Could you double-check your home page address? Firefox lets you set your home page to multiple different pages, each of which will have its own tab.

In Firefox 61, you can check that here:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click the new Home category.

Then on the right side, you can check the box below "Custom URLs..."

Mutliple addresses are separated by a vertical bar or "pipe" character ("|") so you can try to spot that, for example --

https://duckduckgo.com/|https://www.mozilla.org/

-- or just clear out the home page setting and set it up from scratch.

Was that it?
