Firefox closes private tabs

more options

I leave Firefox running with 5 private tabs and lock it so I cannot accidentally shut it down.. It's doing a download, so I go away for 10 mins, come back, it's all still there, and the private tabs still open, still downloading and at 20 percent.

I leave it for 30 mins, when I come back all the private tabs have been closed but the normal ones are still open.

Is there a timeout? If so, how do I turn it off? Is this because the screen locks? If so how do I stop it?

It's VERY annoying.

Hi Chaosdruid, there's no time-out on private tabs as far as I know.

Maybe Firefox might pause or cancel downloads if a battery saver kicks in during a period of inactivity, but that shouldn't affect your tabs.

One thought is: Firefox crashed and did an automatic recovery, but recovery only restores non-private tabs. I don't know if Firefox for Android has that as one of its behaviors, or whether there might be some other explanation.

Hopefully another support volunteer will have a clearer idea of how to figure out what's going on.
