I asked a question about settings but don't know where it ended up or how to find any answers I receive.

When you look to the right of your original post(s) you can click on "Get email updates" - then you will get a notifcation in your email inbox every time somebody posted in your thread(s).

or to be more accurate, to see your support.mozilla.org account profile page.
This is not the only *.mozilla.org site you can have an separate account on.
After you've clicked on your display name (see FredMcD's post) ; click on "Edit profile" and then on "Edit settings" - there you can check :
- Watch forum threads I start
- Watch forum threads I comment in
Allthough those boxes should be checked by default .....
