All information on the e-mail server was lost in my organization. All messages and folder structure disappeared when I logged in. How to recover it?

My e-mail account is in IMAP. The hard disk of the server has broken and e-mail information has gone. When I logged in, all messages disappeared. There are still many big files in the folder in C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\w27dx0yj.default\ImapMail\imap... .

Step one, move the files containing mail somewhere else. they will be for example inbox. There will also be an inbox.msf file, this is not required, but might be handy for identifying the correct files

Step two open the files in notepad++ (you can download it from the web) and do a universal find and replace for

X-Mozilla-Status: 0008

with

X-Mozilla-Status: 0001

Save your changes

Step three install the import export tools add-on https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss and use the add-on to import the saved mbox files into th local folders part of Thunderbird.

If you are skilled enough with the file system, you can actually place the mbox files into the mail\local folders folder of your profile and the folders will just appear after a restart. However the import tool makes it eaqsier for those without those file system skills.
