We are a small community organization. We have an email account--via a web hosting service--that needs to be monitored by myself and another person. We are in two locations.

I successfully set up Thunderbird on my computer for our email account. I am not sure how to get the other person set up.

I think setting the other person up will be easy. After installing Thunderbird she goes to <Account Settings> from <Tools>. The rest should be as straight forward as it was for me so long as she has the basic email account information from our hosting service: email address, password, and port numbers.

I used Thunderbird several years ago as a client and set the ports manually. This time, Thunderbird offered automatic setup, which worked just fine.

Comments? Thanks in advance.

David

As long as the account is set up as IMAP on both computers, or on other devices, each user will see the same (synced) account structure. You will have to be careful to avoid conflicts if both users try to delete or move messages at the same time.
