I am now trapped in a cycle within Firefox where after a few days most or all of the images from my Facebook feed stop displaying. Sometimes the problem will emerge slowly, a few images won't load, then within a day or so none of them will load. Other times, like just now, it will be sudden and no images will display in the feed. All of the other images on the page will display, just no images posted by users/pages in any feed.

The only way to fix this is to go into Firefox preferences and clear the Cashed Web Content. At that point the images will display again, but only for a few days, and then the cycle continues.

What is going on here, and is there anything that can be done to fix it?

I am using Firefox 91.5.1esr (64-bit) on a 2018 Mac Mini running Mojave. My other computers, consisting of both Windows and Mac, all run Firefox and do not have this issue.

Thank you.

See if clearing the cache when the browser closes helps.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address box. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Macs: Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Unfortunately this did not work, just now the images stared selectively not loading again. I have not closed the browser and restarted it yet as I have several tabs open that I am actively working in, but the browser has only been open about an hour and this should clearly not be happening.

Anyone have an idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? Is it just a problem with the website (Facebook), is this a problem other users are experiencing?

Thanks.
