My tabs keep disappearing. I have multiple tabs open but some of them just disappear for no apparent reason and I can't bring them back. I'm not in full screen mode and not toggling with the F11 key. Firefox is up to date and I've tried restarting my laptop.

My tabs are disappearing. I was using a site the other day when the tab suddenly disappeared. The only thing I can do is to wait until it happenes again and take screenshots. Sometimes I can see where the tabs should be but they have gone and there's just a space. I normally have three to four tabs open at any one time. F11 makes all the tabs disappear as you are then in full screen mode. If you want to look at the tabs in full screen just hover the mouse at the top of the screen. To come out of full screen just hit F11 again.

This evening I was waiting for Live YouTube broadcast to begin. The tab suddenly disappeared and I could no longer see the YouTube screen. I opened it again but when the broadcast began I could hear two sets of voices. The original connection was still there but the screen and the tab weren't showing. I had to shut Firefox down and open it again.

I've uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. This is what is happening. I've taken a screenshot. I have three tabs showing but there are four pages open. The first tab is my inbox, the second is Facebook, the third is a site called Prolific Academic. There is one other page open but no tab showing. If I open a fourth tab I can't see the other page that is open with no tab and I can only get back to it by chance. I've attached an image. Any ideas?

Did you check "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" to see if they were close by accident ?

more options

No, I didn't check the history. I can't understand why the web page is showing without there being a tab. If something is closing the tabs down then surely it would close the page as well.

As a work around, does it help if you press ctrl+tab to cycle through the tabs? does the hidden tab become visible when you do that?

Assuming you have 4 tabs open and one of the tabs is not being displayed, but seems to be still open, can you try pressing ctrl+tab 4 to 5 times to cycle through the tabs and see if teh hidden tab comes into view

Thank you. I'll try that the next time it happens.

No. The problem happens randomly. It hasn't happened in the last few days and I don't want my addons disabled all the time. It may not happen for a couple of weeks but then it will suddenly lose a tab.

I too keep several (usually 4-5) tabs open on a full-screen mode including Yahoo mail, and ONLY Yahoo mail tab is disappearing even when I don't click anything or do anything on the mail or on the browser. The other tabs like weather forecast, dictionary, etc. have never disappeared. This is really annoying as I need to monitor my email when I'm not in bed. What could be the solution?
