The solutions to remove top sites from address bar drop-down are: 1. Firefox menu option which is on top right corner -> Settings -> Search -> Search Suggestions -> uncheck the checkbox of "Provide search suggestions".

2. Firefox menu option which is on top right corner -> Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Address Bar -> uncheck the checkbox of "Browsing history" and "Shortcuts".
