Telemetry pings are not deleted stack up over time -> 2GB saved-telemetry-pings folder
Hi,
The saved-telemetry-pings folder in my Firefox profile doesn't get cleaned up of the old telemetry pings, and it just keeps growing over time.
I have pings in this folder that are from October 2021 and I doubt this is a normal behavior.
It's not the first time this thing happen, and October 2021 is probably the last time I cleaned this folder.
How do I make it so it doesn't keep telemetry pings, but I can still use telemetry. I use the beta Firefox, and I'd like to keep some telemetry as some of the devs at Mozilla foolishly rely on the telemetry to slash features, when telemetry is so broken it's better set to disabled than enabled.

"How do I make it so it doesn't keep telemetry pings", I meant -> "how do I make it so it doesn't keep this many and this many old telemetry pings"
Just googling your question I found this. https://www.ghacks.net/2015/11/09/how-to-disable-the-firefox-saved-telemetry-pings-and-archive-folder/
Good info... I'll have to take a closer look at this later today. For me on Linux there were less than 10 files or nothing in my profile folders.

Yeah, but no. That's not what I'm asking. These settings disable telemetry. I'm asking how keep telemetry ("Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla") on but stop it from keeping so many old telemetry pings.
I tried the toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled, and it doesn't do anything to keep the telemetry folder from filling up with old ping files. The screenshot in the OP is one year worth of telemetry ping with toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled set to false.
The toolkit.telemetry.enabled cannot be changed anymore in about:config anyway.
I've looked around online but didn't find anything that weren't howtos to completely disable telemetry. That's why I thought to ask here to know whether it's a config issue or a bug.
