Hello

Normally, to reset a password for an email account, you never use the same mail address for recovery. All mails systems that I know do not allow it, as it's useless. If your mail provider allows this, they should have another recovery method. If not, it's a very bad provider and you will be better off anyway by switching to another one. As of your gmail account, I don't see the relation. Even if it's the same password, you will never recovery it from the phone since Android do not enable users to see saved passwords.
