Why have the English date format questions been archived without an adequate response? I, too, have Firefox English GB version and my Windows date format settings are dd/mm/yyyy but Firefox still uses the American format. This is not rocket science!! Please sort this out.

Are you referring to this site or another in particular? There is a language setting which I haven't tried but perhaps it will achieve what you want. Under Language on the first page of Settings. Use your operating system settings for “English (...)” to format dates, times, numbers, and measurements.
