Try it again with just robert.den-hartih without the @orange.fr - just a hunch based on some info I found that may- or may not - be useful. I presume you are using SSL/TLS and 993 and 'normal password' settings.

Hello, Thunderbird cannot connect to the Orange server. However, everything is fine, the address, the password. It's impossible to create an account. Each time, the message: "Failed to connect from server imap.orange.fr with username robert.den-hartigh@orange.fr."

Confirm your settings with the ones recommended by Orange. (The User Name should be the full email address). See the section about first enabling POP/IMAP access and creating an app password for 3rd-party access. If it still doesn't work, state your antivirus app.
