To combat scammers, please have a column that shows the email (or domain) of incoming emails

Please provide a column that shows the real address / domain of incoming emails.

Many emails now pretend to come from a safe legitimate company, but you cannot easily spot them in Thunderbird. Thunderbird's Correspondents column shows the fake company name they are using, which is not helpful. The From column shows the same information (the fake name, but not the email address), so that doesn't help.

So I cannot tell the scam emails without clicking on the email and looking at it, which is dangerous.

Solution options:

1. Change the From column to report full address 2. Allow user to define what to show in From column (Name / Full email / Domain / Combination) 3. New columns "Sender Email Address" and "Sending Domain" 4. Add smarts to Thunderbird to highlight/block/move messages where sender is from visibly false address.

I hope you can jump onto this quickly. It would be a massively helpful popular feature.

Thank you. Derek

That feature is in ThunderBird 128. It can show just the Name — as 115 and before does, Name and E-Mail Address or just the E-Mail Address.

Thank you both, but when I try to install the add-on, Thunderbird refuses, saying, "This add-on could not be installed because it has not been verified." Is this something that the add-on creator can fix (and issue a new version), or do I need to find a workaround to install unverified add-ons?

(It is still a big disappointment that this hugely important and valuable feature is not a part of standard Thunderbird.)

It installed properly here in TB 115: drag the green Download button from the website and drop it onto the TB Add-ons Manager.
