Running Firefox 3.6.9 with Xmarks installed. When I launch Firefox the "Add-on updater" starts trying to update Xmarks from 3.7.8 to 3.8.6. I can't complete, skip or cancel this update - the updater just hangs - and I can't get past it to open Firefox.

Yes. Thanks (I didn't know about SafeMode). Should I tick the option to disable the add-on?

Yes, if the new version of Xmarks is causing Firefox not to launch correctly disable it.

Thanks for your help. Hopefully Xmarks developers will find and fix this in the next update.

baw,

The latest version of Xmarks is 3.8.7 and it works with Firefox 3.6.9. You might want to completely uninstall your Xmarks and reinstall it again.
