My Firefox will only open new tabs if I click a link, which opens up another page.

It won't work if I click: - New Tab under File - the "+" button next to my present tab - ctrl+T - etc.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

Perfect, pity allowing access via valid userID and password was not as good, had to build a new registration as would not recognize the exiting
