Program will only open when run as Administrator

This started this morning when another program installed an update that needed to recycle the system in order to become operational. When the system came back up FireFox (FF) would not open. I'd get an error message that FF had crashed. EVERY time I tried to start the program I got the same error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program (twice) and even uninstalled the program that had the original update, to no avail. BUT... when I tried the "Run as Administrator" option it worked!! but I still can't get the program to come up under any other log in. Any experience with this type of problem?

Fox fire crashed last night. Unable to open browser except as Administrator. I also had similar problems with software such as Quicken and another browser Google Chrome. The error message was lost before I had a chance to read it.

Was there an update in the last few days which may have been a cause to this problem?
