Forced to use I.E. with DragonDictate - my FF offers 2 options: IETAB or IE. What is the difference and how does it work if I don't have IE installed?

Using Dragon to dictate on forums unless I use I.E. half the voice functions are lost (like correction ability!). It isn't a big deal to click on one of the options, but I'm curious as to what the performance trade-off might be AND security. (I don't trust ANY M$ product). Am I still "inside" FF security umbrella?

The IE TAB extension for Firefox is not a IE emulator but rather uses the IE itself in a Firefox tab.
