firefox closes unexpectedly (especially on google when typing in search field)
ok so i put together a new system and i can't get firefox to work right on it. it closes for no apparent reason without a crash message or anything. i suspect this might be an issue of incompatibility with the cpu (phenom ii x6). ie6 acted the same way until i updated it to ie8 --> problem solved. google chrome never had this problem to begin with. any suggestions?

Safe mode disables hardware acceleration - Use hardware acceleration when available in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > General - as well as the installed Extensions, themes (Appearance) and Plugins in Tools > Add-ons. You can try to narrow down the real cause by starting normally and enabling the hardware acceleration setting and the add-ons one at a time.

Hi,
Please also check if this happens in Safe Mode.
no ff seems to work fine in safe mode. what is this an indication of?

ok i think the problem was hardware acceleration. disabled it and now it seems to be working fine. thanks for the help and i'll keep you posted if the problem reappears.
You are welcome :)
