I read the other articles & I don't understand them. I'm trying to uninstall this program, the wizard comes up then it says it can't run because I need to shut down Firefox. Which I'm trying to uninstall because it _won't _ run. (also, I didn't update because it said my Norton security would not interact well with it - so it updating itself is pretty darn annoying, I'm pretty sure I want to really uninstall FF & not use it again because of this feature - who is in charge of my computer, me or FF?)

Hi BeckyinAustin,

Firefox might be running still in the background. Perhaps it didn't shut down correctly. Why don't you try restarting your computer and trying the uninstall before you do anything else. You could also try opening the task manager and killing the Firefox process if it is running.

You could then try installing a fresh version of Firefox from:

http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/

Hopefully this helps!
