I need to create two desktop links to open two different websites. The first site should placed on the left corner with a width of approx 600px and the second site should be started at a different second browser window placed on the right corner with a width of approx 1200px. I was looking for parameters to start firefox from command line. I found the parameter 'width' and ' height' to configure the dimension but no parameter for the location on the desktop. I tried also settings with the profile manager but without success. I need some suggestions. Thanx.

Hi,

One way would be to create two profiles (this is to save the different desktop positions). Next on the desktop shortcut Target field you could enter for e.g. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p profile.1 -no-remote -url mozilla.com -height 400 -width 600. If this works okay you can copy-paste this shortcut and change the url, height and width, and also the -p (profile name) on the second shortcut. After opening the shortcuts, you can place the windows in the desired location which will be saved on exit. The window position is saved in the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder. Each profile has its own separate folder, files and settings. If the window position doesn't matter you could try as many shortcuts as needed with different parameters on a single profile.
