How do I save the changes I have made to the settings? Also, how do I get the "Would you like to give Firefox feedback?" popup to go away?

I have gone into my Tools and then Options and have made changes there (like for Downloads I clicked "Close when all downloads are finished"), but the changes will not save for when I close and reopen the browser; my changes to the settings are not being saved at all. How can I get the changes to stay? Also, I keep getting this popup from Firefox asking, "Will you help improve Mozilla Firefox by sending information about performance, hardware, usage, and customizations to Mozilla?" and I keep pressing the "No" button but it appears every time I open the browser. Even when I press "Yes," it reappears. Is there a way to permanently say "NO"? I would appreciate any help!

hello vnsonwu, this sounds like there might be a problem with the file in your profile folder that stores the settings (maybe it is set to read-only or corrupted in another form) - please go through the troubleshooting steps described here: How to fix preferences that won't save
