Firefox 18.0.01 (Mac) Won't synch Bookmarks with older FF versions 9!0.5.8 and 10.4.11) How can I synch these versions? Thanks
Firefox just upgraded itself to 18.0.1 on my iMac (OSX 10.7.5, Lion) I have been using " Synchronize! Pro " for ten years to synch (or Backup) my iMac to my three laptops.
The Laptops are all PPC (non-Intel) iBooks of various vintages, running OS X 10.5.8 and 10.4.11.
The synchs ran fine until yesterday, when FF 18.0.1 arrived
Synchronize! Pro synchronized the drnpcf9j.default folder in the Firefox's profiles folder from the pre-18.0.1 version to the same folder in the three PPC laptops running FF 3.6.24 and 3.6.28.
Now, with the upgrade to ver. 18.0.1, it won't synch. The bookmarks are now located in a folder named "Profiles" which contains two new folders , neither of them named the old "drnpcf9j.default" .
How can I synch (or back-up) my new Profiles or bookmarks to the three older iBooks)
The Firefox synch won't work because the older browsers don't have a synch setup in the "Tools" menu.
Suggestions dearly welcome.
Many thanks

Try this:
From the computer whose bookmarks you want to copy: Open the "Show All Bookmarks" window. Click "Import and Backup" and choose Backup. Firefox will want to backup to the desktop, which is fine. Transfer the file to the other computers. Again, desktop is fine. From the other computers: Open the bookmarks window as before. Choose Restore from the "Import and Backup" item, and from there, click on "Choose File". Again, Firefox will want to get the file from the desktop, which is where you put it. Click on the .json file and it will be loaded into the bookmarks.Karanta wannan amsa a matsayinta 👍 1

You can save the bookmarks to another location and restore or import them into the older versions of Firefox from the bookmarks library window.
Thanks for the swift response, finitarry:
I think I understand but am not sure. I barely understand the restore/backup process.
I think I did the right moves starting (as you suggested) by placing a copy of the new FF bookmarks on the desktop of the iBook and ran the restore process (I think) by finding that file and using the Library's Import/Backup to replace the contents of the iBooks FF Profile (bookmarks).
From there on, I can't remember what I did but I think I see the new set is in the old version's bookmark menus. I'm not sure. (I'm pretty ancient and when I have a long series of new task steps to perform, my memory of what the heck I just did simply quits in the middle).
I'm kind of lost in the series of required events and steps and exactly where I should be during the process. I need a printed check list to follow because my steps are lost after a few minutes.
With that in mind, is there a standing Help File that details this procedure step-by-step that you might be able to point me to? (As a *very* old pilot, sometimes I just need a good checklist.)
Again, Many thanks

Perfect. Thanks, I'll have it laminated. ;-)
