I keep getting Unresponsive Script alerts. I came to this web site to find a way to fix that problem. The instructions say "At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go to the Help sub-menu." I don't have the Firefox window. My screen does not look like the one in the instructions. How do I get the Firefox window so that I can get to the Troubleshooting button so I can fix my unresponsive script problem?

Did you try Safe mode?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

On Windows XP you see then menu bar and not the orange Firefox menu button.
You get the orange Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden.
